Equine - Case Histories and Testimonials
Natural horsemanship came to the forefront when Felicity's
horse was recovering from a road traffic accident about 12
years ago. Fate (as always) lent a hand and found her a yard
manager's job in a professional training yard where only natural
horsemanship was practised. Learning Monty Roberts Join Up
technique was a turning point for both horse and owner, developing
for Felicity a passion for kinder and more effective methods
of training that removed the language barrier between humans
and equines. From this time onwards she has been studying
other peoples' methods (Maxwell, Peace, Parelli etc) and using
them successfully along with her own work.
Felicity is qualified in the BHS system as well as training
and examining R & RS. Also B Test examining for the Pony
Club so thereby having a foot firmly in both camps of training.
This principle extends to her healing work where she has an
in depth knowledge of equine veterinary practice but has also
worked closely with Lissy Seidel DrMedVet MRCVS using the
holistic approach (Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Chiropractic,
Massage etc). Felicity has helped Lissy to develop her natural
horsemanship skills (see picture).

Hannah
Charles Siddle
Charles Siddle visited my mare Hannah in 1999 after she had
an accident in the field resulting in a back and hip injury.
The prognosis wasn't good and the vet advised 3-4 months box
rest and hope for the best. I genuinely thought this was the
end for us. I remembered reading a while back about Charles
Siddle in a horse magazine and at the time I thought if I
ever ran out of options for treating Hannah, I would consider
calling him. Of course I hunted high and low and couldn't
find a contact for him, until funnily enough a neighbour who
knew my horse was ill came round with a leaflet for Beacon
Healing and Charles Siddle, saying she wondered if he might
be able to help!! Just goes to show when you need the help
it comes.
Charles came to visit Hannah and at the time I was still
somewhat sceptical but ready to try anything. He appeared
to do very little but lightly put his hands over the middle
of her back and her stifle, saying these were the problem
areas. There was no manipulation of her back but all of a
sudden Hannah moved round and there was a clunk as if something
had moved. Charles said she would be fine now, but I must
admit I reserved judgement. However within half an hour of
Charles leaving, Hannah who had been depressed and not eating,
wolfed down half a bale of hay and called for more whilst
marching very determinedly around her stable.
I mentioned nothing to anybody else on the yard but that
evening she came out sound out of her box. I was cautious
and continued with the vets' advice until she was given the
all clear two months later and was gradually put back into
work. Charles visited her once more before his death when
she had a slight relapse and soon put her back on the road
to recovery. I am convinced that the healing he gave her meant
she was able to carry on working and enjoying life.
Felicity Wilson
I first met Felicity Wilson in February 2002 at one of her
first animal healing workshops. A letter came through the
post about the workshop at the time that I had begun to be
interested in following a healing path for myself and had
just arranged to do my NFSH level 1 and 2 course. Since meeting
Felicity and completing the Certificate of Attendance in Animal
Healing in 2002 and now the Practitioners course, I am constantly
amazed by her depth of knowledge of both the spiritual and
practical aspects of animal healing and her generosity of
spirit in sharing it with others. She has given me a huge
amount of spiritual support and guidance for which I am very
grateful.
Felicity has also helped me enormously with Hannah who at
28 years old is still full of life. In 2002 following a bout
of lameness, which couldn't be diagnosed by the vet, Felicity
gave Hannah regular healing sessions and helped me develop
a programme of rehabilitation for her so after 3 months I
could bring her back into work. Although Hannah now has arthritis,
Felicity's regular visits and support have ensured she is
still enjoying an active and happy life.
Felicity always offers sound practical advice and combines
her extensive orthodox veterinary and equine experience with
her spiritual guidance for the best approach for the individual
horse and owner. Both Hannah and the other horses on our yard
have benefited greatly from her help and support. Felicity
has generously shared her knowledge and experience with all
the horse owners on our yard, enabling them to develop the
skills and knowledge to work on their own horses and provide
them with the best chance of getting better.

Brian Dundee
He is a 16.2hh, 11 year old, Dun, Irish Sports Horse. I have
been competing Brian in one-day events for 4 years and throughout
this tension and over enthusiasm for competitions has always
been his downfall especially when it comes to the dressage
and show jumping phases. Several times last year Felicity
came to events with me and through out the various phases
gave him some healing. This had the effect of relaxing and
calming him down allowing me to ride him to the best of his
ability. Unfortunately as I am only the rider and not the
owner, Brian does not live in my yard so he does not receive
treatment on a regular basis and as often as I would like.

APRIL MASTERPIECE

He is a 16hh, 6 year old, Thoroughbred cross Irish Draught.
As a four year old he was diagnosed with overriding spineous
processes of his thoracic vertebrae, commonly know as "kissing
spines". As his owner I was aware that there was something
wrong when he started having difficulty holding his hind feet
for picking out and when being shod. When being worked (on
lunge and ridden) he was changing legs behind in canter, something
he had not done when initially backed.
The condition was diagnosed by X-ray and Gamma Ray Scintigraphy.
Under veterinary supervision he had steroid injections to
the muscles and ligaments of the surrounding area followed
by a period of box and field rest. He was brought back to
work very slowly, starting with leading in hand, then long
reining, first with roller, then building up to saddle and
later with weight cloth, all in straight lines. During this
time he was receiving physiotherapy in the form of acupuncture,
laser, manipulation, massage and magnetic therapy. This was
over a period of 6 to 8 months. When back in full work he
spent a lot of time cantering in large open spaces trying
to rebuild and reshape his muscles. Despite all this he was
still having difficulty in maintaining his correct sequence
of legs during canter.
About six months ago Felicity, whilst attending one of my
other horses, gave him some healing, which he initially found
difficulty in accepting. After several sessions when he finally
yielded, the difference in his work was outstanding. He can
now sustain a canter and is muscling up and developing correctly.
Due to the fact he can now canter properly he has been able
to go Unaffiliated Show Jumping and cross country schooling
on several occasions, with success. In his few outings so
far this year, he has qualified for the Badminton Horse Feeds
Dressage Championship, been 2nd in a Novice Dressage to Music
and been placed in Affiliated Prelim Dressage. My speciality
is Eventing and so with the start of the season looming it
will be interesting to see how he performs in the other aspects
of the one-day event. Without Felicity's help I would not
be looking forward to this year with such enthusiasm and hope.
I am delighted to report that he has just completed his
first Affiliated Pre Novice event at his first attempt , and
he has also won a qualifying round of The Summer Regional
Championships , Affiliated Dressage . 6 Months ago this would
have been beyond my wildest dreams .

Danny
We are very pleased to print the letter below, which has come
from the owner of Danny who is a 30 year old gelding. She
has owned Danny for twenty-two of his thirty years, and was
devastated when, in September 1998, he was diagnosed with
severe liver damage. The blood test results were so bad that
Danny was given between two weeks and two months to live.
To demonstrate the severity of this case a normal test result
would register from 0 - 54 IU/L, Danny's test result registered
at 913.
Extracts from a letter from Susan Stevens
In 1998 Danny was diagnosed with severe liver damage. As
the months went on he began to have hyperactivity attacks,
due to the toxins building up in his body because his liver
was not functioning properly. His behaviour was worrying and
upsetting, he started to rub his nose and mouth on anything
he could find, resulting in him cutting and grazing them.
He was also becoming increasingly unsteady on his feet. With
his head held low to the ground, he would make sucking noises
and would be standing with his legs at all angles. At other
times he could not keep still, having an uncontrollable urge
to walk, but not really knowing where he was going. Often
he would go from one to seven days without eating anything
and drinking little. In the field he would march up and down
for hours, and at other times just stand by a tree with his
head hung low to the ground. Of course there where many discussions
with the vet but he could think of nothing more to prescribe
and felt it was a case of simply carrying on with Danny until
the quality of his life was unacceptable.
I consulted a homeopathic vet and various sources of Ayurvedic
herbs, which I was told would help to boost Danny's immune
system.
At some time previously I had read an article in Horse Magazine,
which featured Charles Siddle, the animal healer who had appeared
on the Michael Aspel television programme "Strange but True".
On March 9th I rang the number which had been published, and
it was answered by Felicity Wilson who informed me that Charles
had sadly died on Boxing Day, but that she had worked alongside
him and that he had wished her to carry on with his work.
She said that she would start Distance Healing straight away
and I should telephone her at nine that evening. This arrangement
carried on for two weeks and quite clearly Danny's health
improved, with only two attacks occurring within this period.
For the first time in two and a half years, I felt that Danny
and I had someone to help us. About a fortnight later Felicity
came up from Wiltshire to give Danny hands on healing in Clitheroe,
Lancashire where we live. Felicity detected that Danny had
experienced terrible headaches, and as she laid hands upon
him, her guides were telling her that his thyroid was sluggish
and she suggested a remedy for this. Felicity just used her
hands on his forehead, behind his poll, his withers, the middle
of his back, his sides and around his tummy. Just her hands,
no fancy gadgets, and when she had finished, Danny was completely
relaxed and calm.
Felicity has been healing Danny for nine weeks now and in
that time he improved far more that I could ever have hoped
for. He has lost that desperate look that he used to have,
and we go walking around the lanes and through the village
together. I feel that healing has played the biggest part
in bettering his life and hope it will continue to do so,
I would not have believed what a change I was going to see
in him. Danny is an old boy now and he gets tired some days,
on others he is very lively, just like his old self. He is
now having a peaceful retirement and that is all I could wish
for. I love him with all my heart and can't imagine life without
him.
I sincerely hope that other people will be open minded about
healing, so that, like Danny, their much loved pets can enjoy
their lives again. Thank you so much Felicity.
